Security System Upgrade at a Strategic Facility
The Ribbon UA team was engaged to modernize the video surveillance system at a critical infrastructure facility.
The task was to replace technical and cyber-vulnerable equipment with solutions that meet modern information security standards.
Context
The facility was previously equipped with a surveillance system based on Hikvision cameras — a Chinese brand repeatedly mentioned in reports concerning data transmission to third-party servers.
Due to potential risks of unauthorized access and corresponding restrictions in the EU and U.S., the decision was made to switch to a European manufacturer.
Implemented Solution
The existing Hikvision cameras were removed without interrupting operations at the facility.
The new system was built using BOSCH surveillance technology — a solution with a high level of protection and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Full perimeter coverage, key point monitoring, and centralized administration were implemented.
The new cameras were integrated into the facility’s existing network.
Proper video archiving, remote viewing, and data encryption were ensured.
Result
All equipment posing potential cybersecurity risks was removed.
The new system fully complies with current standards for critical infrastructure and allows for future scaling without compromising security or manageability.
This case reflects the steady, system-driven transition of Ukrainian businesses and government partners toward technologies that ensure information protection at the level of European standards.
